Mamik chooses to use recycled plastic

You often ask us the question of choosing materials. Why did you choose to recycle bottle waste? Why not choose fashionable materials: bamboo, organic plastic, wood chips...

Our starting point is simple. We wanted to use materials that we have at hand, but not only that... We also wanted to produce in France to limit our carbon footprint and upgrade our industrial sector.

Plastic bottles can be recycled in the yellow selective sorting container. PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is the most used polymer for the manufacture of plastic bottles and it is also one of the most easily recyclable .

Impact of plastic on our environment

Did you know that 6 million tonnes of plastic end up in the oceans every year? This figure is such that we are talking about a 7th continent created by the agglomeration of plastic particles: a environmental disaster for our oceans ! This continent would be 6 times the size of France and is located in the North Pacific.

The consequences on maritime wildlife are alarming: 1 million birds and 100,000 marine mammals die each year from ingesting plastic and 267 animal species are threatened.

GIVE A LIFE TO THIS WASTE

So that there is less waste, less resources and energy spent . Thanks to the recycling of plastic packaging, substantial savings are made in the production of new plastic materials.

All our MAMIK products are single material, which allows them to also be recycled at the end of their life.
